Scenic Hudson and Children’s Media Project are partnering to offer these fun workshops in conjunction with our I Love Hudson Valley short video competition.
We'd like everyone to be able to participate -- including people who don't have equipment -- so we've created these workshops to allow folks to hone their skills through professional instruction. Children’s Media Project will provide the know-how and Scenic Hudson the outdoor classroom.
WORKSHOP #1: BASIC CAMERA
In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn to use the manual functions on their camera and incorporate basic principles of composition to improve their images. They will learn to choose interesting angles and shots to tell an effective visual story. The workshop will cover techniques in handheld and tripod camera work. Participants will practice these techniques in the workshop and receive feedback from their instructors and peers. Participants may bring their own camera or use CMP's equipment during the workshop. Material shot during this workshop may be edited during the follow-up workshop, Basic Editing.
